Have you been struggling to lose weight but those stubborn pounds just won’t disappear? Don’t worry, we have some small tips that will help you shed those extra pounds.
Introduce a food swap every day and you’ll start dropping pounds in no time. For instance, if you eat 500 less calories per day you will lose a pound a week. How can you do that? Swap your daily frappuccino for a coffee, your plate of pasta with spinach or cauliflower cream, sugar with sweetener, the salt with no salt.
Change your diet according to season
We’re in full spring and, as nutritionists recommend, it’s very important to light up our diet, to go to the farmers markets and buy fresh vegetables and fruits, seafood, grilled chicken, salads. In other words, say goodbye to the heavy winter comfort food.
You cannot lose weight if you don’t push yourself to do so and this causes you a lot of stress. The weight-loss journey is not smooth, sometimes you have to be harsh with yourself in order to reach your goal but it is also very important to know when to take a break. And by break I mean being kind with yourself. Even if your body is not perfect, you have to love and accept it and thus, the body you want will come much more quickly.
Write it down
Make a food journal and write down everything you eat every single day but it is important to be honest with yourself because keeping track of your eating habits may reveal patterns in your daily eating schedule that are making it harder for you to lose weight.
If you’re a couch potato things have to change dramatically. If you’re used to get up late or you just can’t find the time to do some extra activities after work, try and get up with the sun, get out and do some yoga, walk or jog first thing in the morning and you won’t have to stress about it later. Do this daily for half an hour and you’ll see the results in a wink of an eye.
Don’t blame the others
If you’re eating junk food before bed every night or cuddling on the couch with American Idol instead of going for a jog it’s not anybody else’s fault. Take total ownership for what you eat and do, otherwise you’re not going to achieve the results you want.
