Men and women alike have weight issues at some point in their life. Whether you’re young or aged, losing weight or maintaining a healthy diet is always difficult. But it’s not so difficult if you eat in accordance with your own temperament.
For instance, a sanguine person is rather quiet, can easily cope with all kinds of shocks and prefers unusual dishes. They should keep vigilant watch on exotic food cooked with their own hand and try not to abuse high-calorie components of dishes being prepared. They should choose such diets, where foods are vegetable-based or corn-based, and require several hours of cooking.
A phlegmatic person is slow and rather prefers to eat just a piece of bread than busy himself with cooking. He has a sandwich, then a bag of chips in an hour, then chocolate bar in half an hour, then one more sandwich. Phlegmatic person should make efforts to force himself eating almost by hours, two or three times a day, but have a meal of full value. One meal must be hot, by all means. Also phlegmatic person should not forget about first courses. Because fish have a cold and moist quality and increase phlegm, they are harmful for this type of temperament. An excess of phlegm is harmful for the nerves and brain, causing lumbago, apoplexy and paralysis. To expel this harmful phlegm from the body, laxative herbs, hot water or honey with vinegar should be taken. Diet consisting of soups and cereals, mutton and chickpea soup, young pigeon, sparrow, and hot herbs such as mastic, cinnamon and cuminis are best for this type of people.
Choleric persons are impetuous, they are inclined to be emotionally unstable. They have not enough patience, so they often fall into fast-foods or convenience foods traps. In the mornings these people should eat one or two morsels of bread soaked in a sour sherbet made of pomegranate, sour grape, sour apple or lemon juice, and drink a sour sherbet of this kind. Dishes such as sour sherbet, stew with unripe grapes, stew with plums, stew of lentils with vinegar are proper nutrients for this kind of person. Diet for choleric person can be different, but not too severe, and not kind of diet which requires meticulous calories counting.
People with a melancholic temperament should eat moist foods and avoid dry foods such as millet, lentils, dried meat and salty foods. For example, salt fish seasoned in vinegar, a dry and cold foodstuff, prevents the building up of yellow bile in the stomach, which causes indigestion and an increase of black bile, resulting in furuncles and itching. Therefore, melancholic person should choose the best diet, which is short-term or even have fasting days and they should also add more fruits, honey and sweets to their diet.
